“My wife is at home with our son and my dad’s having a surgery, I really wish they could be here” – Premier Magic fights hard to win the St James Place Hunters’ Chase at the Gold Cup

Premier Magic, saddled by jockey Bradley Gibbs fought against all odds to win the St James’s Place Hunters’ Chase at the Gold Cup this Friday at The Cheltenham Festival.

The horse had 66/1 odds on Racing Post ahead of the race and as low as 200/1 odds on bet365 directly after it started.

Speaking to ITV directly after the race, Bradley Gibbs said: “Unbelievable. The worst part about it, my partner and my son, couldn’t come today,

“We couldn’t get a baby babysitter for him and my dad’s in hospital having an operation today, so it’s, it’s really special, but just wish they could be here.”

The second horse to cross the finish line was Its On The Line and in third Shantou Flyer followed closely after.

There are only two more races to go at the Cheltenham Festival in the last day of the race week.
