“It’s a dream come true” Corach Rambler wins back-to-back Ultima Handicap races at Cheltenham Festival

Corach Rambler put in a brilliant showing to record back-to-back Ultima Handicap race victories at Cheltenham Festival in the third race of the day.

Rambler went into the race as bookies’ favourite at 5/1, however there were a number of horses in the running beforehand.

Speaking to ITV Racing after the win, jockey Derek Fox said: “He’s just a tremendous horse.

“He travelled a lot easier today than he did last year (at Cheltenham), even when I found myself in the back three out.

Fox was concerned that he might end up in the wrong position at the start of the race.

“I was worried that I was going to hit the front early on,” the 30-year-old explained.

“He likes to lead but Peter Scudamore talked to me beforehand and said to ride with plenty of confidence and to do the same as last year.

“He (Scudamore) gives me a great confidence, you’ve got to do your own thing.”
