“The boy just took a chance and got the break.” – Impaire Et Passe wins the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle

Impaire Et Passe won the first race of Ladies’ Day as he took the Novices’ Hurdle in convincing fashion.

The five-year-old never looked like relinquishing his lead as he pulled clear of the chasing pack in the final stretch.

It marks jockey Paul Townsend’s second win of the festival, after tasting success with El Fabiolo in the Arkle.

Willie Mullins’ horse was the pre-race favourite, with Hermes Allen and Good Land also in-contention.

Mullins after the race:

“I think the boy just took a chance and got the break.

“After that performance I’m sure that I ran him in the right race, so that’s why we didn’t run him and Facile Vega in the same race.”
