Chianti Classico Takes Third Victory of The 2024 Cheltenham Festival, In The Ultima Handicap Chase

The third race of the week is won by Chianti Classico, the Kim Bailey trained horse, who won ahead of Twig and Meetingofthewaters, as they took the lead at the third to last hurdle.

“It’s quite a good feeling winning here” said David Bass post-victory.

“It’s hard running here, I hadn’t won since 2020” the jockey continued.

Kim Bailey had only two runners at the race today and Chianti Classico managed to get a win after 25 years.

Kim Bailey amassed a total of £70,338 in prize money for their victory.

The 3m1f course was going heavy (soft in areas) as light rain fell upon Prestbury Park.

Kim Bailey said, “It’s huge and he’s just thankful it’s over”.

Of the 23 racers, two in Found On and Risk And Roll was a non-starter.
