Cheltenham Cheltenham Festival Horse Racing RACING

Jack Richard’s Novice Chase Preview

The second race of the day is the Jack Richard’s Novices’ Chase which was recently added to the Cheltenham Festival lineup back in 2011.

With 18 runners in 2026 and the winner bagging an impressive £64,300 the Irish will be hoping for a change in form after the last three have been won by British jockeys and trainers.

The favourite this time round is Jordans Cross coming in at 9/2 trained by Anthony Honeyball and ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies.

However prolific owner JP McManus has two runners in this race with Meetmebythesea and Stencil ridden by Ben Jones and Jonathon Burke respectively.

Sean Bowen will be hoping he can borrow some of his brother, James’, luck after he bagged two wins in the last couple of days.

Harry Cobden also finds himself riding the second favourite (but our pick for today) in Regent’s Stroll, trained by Paul Nicholls coming in at 5/1.
