This season both University of Gloucestershire women’s football sides are unbeaten in the BUCS Western Tier Two and Three league.
Despite incredible results on the pitch this season second team player Mollie Crocker expressed her frustrations due to the lack of acknowledgement from further afield.
‘”As a club we’ve noticed we’ve not been getting the recognition we feel that we deserve , with both teams winning week on week we feel as though we are being forgotten about.
“The UoG men’s teams are on the Park Life Sport Bulletins week in week out, we want that too.”

The 1s went to the top of the table last Wednesday as they beat Bristol 2s at the Coombe Dingle Sports Complex, They’ve picked up 18 points from their six games this season having still three games in hand over second place Aberystwyth 1s.

As well as the 1s enjoying success in the league they’re also through to the semi-finals of the Women’s Western Conference Cup after beating Bath 2s 3-0 at the start of the month.
They host Exeter 2s at Plock Court on Wednesday, the winner will face either Plymouth or Marjon 1s in the final.
As for the 2s they have strengthened their squad as well as bringing in a new manager, Dave Cornock who spent three years as Tuffley Rovers as development manager.
The 2s sit second in the league after picking up 10 points from four games. They play Bristol 4s away in a 12:30 kick off on Wednesday in hopes to catch up 1st place Cardiff women’s 2s.

The club are hosting a month long fundraiser in February for the Hollie Gazzard Trust, their aim is to raise £280 as a team through running or walking 280km.
Hollie Gazzard was a 20-year-old girl from Gloucester who was stalked and then killed by her ex-partner in 2014. Her family founded the Hollie Gazzard Trust in her memory. The charity’s aim is to ‘reduce domestic violence through creating and delivering programmes on domestic abuse and promoting healthy relationships to schools and colleges’.
