Harry Cobden rode Stay Away Fay to a win in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle, a high intensity race just before the Gold Cup.
With 150/1 odds, it was Affordable Fury whoc claimed second, neck-and-neck with third place Sandor Clegane.
Speaking to ITV Racing, Cobden (jockey) said:
“It’s great for the owner. And great for the boss. Nice to get one in before the big, big one.”
“My horse, he’s very inexperienced. But he put his head down, he stayed galloping.”
It was a scary finish as Corbetts Cross smacked the bar of the final hurdle sending Jockey Mark Walsh over and off the horse.
