Thornbury Town face tough test Highworth Town in search of an important win

Thornbury Town are travelling up to Wiltshire seeking for a win against play-off contenders Highworth Town.

29 points separate the two sides in the UHL Sport Hellenic league as Thornbury are looking for a positive result to extend their run for safety.

Highworth are a side on great form, as of recent collecting themselves four wins on the bounce, but Thornbury Town boss Richard Joyce has belief that his side can get a result.

‘’We’ve had a two-week break before Brimscombe, if we take our chances early on we can get a result.’’

The Gloucestershire side are currently 11 points safe of relegation with seven games of the season left, and Highworth will prove a tough test for the Reds.

‘’We know what to expect from them, we got to take our chances when we get them’’ mentioned Joyce.

Thornbury have been wasteful in-front of goal over the season only managing two goals in the last five games as well as totalling a goal difference of -32 in 31 league games.

Comparing this to Highworth’s impressive 14 goals in five games means the Reds are going to have to be clinical in-front of goal and especially secure at the back in tomorrow’s fixture.

‘’We still need to get points, it’s not over and done with, a win on Saturday would be unbelievable in terms of that’’.

Victory tomorrow could extend the Gloucestershire side’s road to safety by 14 points if Roman Glass St George are successful at beating Wantage Town.
