The Pilgrims sit in 10th just two points off the drop, a position which Oxford manager Rose is stunned by.
‘It was a battle, I think that there a good side with good players, it’s a bit of a surprise they are where they are having seen them, again today.
‘To win the game was really pleasing, we obviously scored really early, It’s another win, another clean sheet. I can’t ask for more really.
That results takes the Yellows up to third in the table after the Grecians lost 2-1 to top of the table Ipswich Town.
‘We’ve gone above Exeter today, someone who we’ve still got to play as well as Watford and Hashtag on the last game of the season. Third is the minimum we’d expect now setting out where we wanted to be at the start of this campaign. I’m really pleased with them now at this late point in the season. those results will define whether we finish where we want to be in third by the end of the season.
