The Swindon Wildcats face another three game weekend as they prepare for the play-offs

Swindon Wildcats player coach Aaron Nell says his team must match their attitude in their 6-0 win against the Bristol Pitbulls as they go into this busy three game weekend.

With just three weeks until play offs the Wildcats, who have already qualified for the post season competition, will be looking to avoid any injuries this weekend.

The team travel up to Sheffield to face the Sheffield Steeldogs on Friday night before travelling back to the return game at the Link Centre on Saturday.

They complete the weekend with another long trip up to Hull on Sunday night with the majority of players having to get back for work on Monday morning.

The Cats are currently sitting in third position of the NIHL with hopes of reaching the Coventry final four for the first time since 2017.

They welcomed back Sam Godfrey, Reed Sayers and coach Aaron Nell to the team last weekend as they returned from their respective injuries.

This is a massive positive for Nell as he will be looking to keep everyone injury free with key players picking up big injuries the past few seasons just weeks before the play offs.

After Saturday night’s 6-0 victory over the Bristol Pitbulls, the team will be looking to carry that momentum into this weekend.

Nell said after the game, “We need the same attitude as what we had Saturday night, we need to be responsible while taking over possession of the puck.

“They beat us last time so got to make sure we start like we did in the first, as for the Hull game we will think about that when we get to it.”

Despite the overload of games towards the back end of the season, the players are all relieved they are still playing after the Link Centre flooded back in September.

Wildcats star player Tomasz Malasinksi will also be eyeing up back-to-back 100+ point seasons as he is on 89 G/A for the season with seven fixtures to play.
