Samcro Wins Marsh Novices’ Chase in dramatic style

Samcro has won the 13:30 Marsh Novices’ Chase beating Melon in a photo finish. The stands at Cheltenham dropped silent in anticipation of the photo finish result.

Davy Russel’s win on Samcro’s means Gordon Elliot got his fourth win of the festival.

The 12-year-old mighty Faugheen with Paul Townend lead at the start before passing the lead over Melon his stable mate.

Second favourite Itchy Feet fell with 10 fences to go.

Faugheen finished 3rd respectively after getting stuck in a pocket he couldn’t get himself out of.

ITV’s Chris Hughes didn’t have a fairy-tale day at the races as his own Annie Mac  finished in 9th.
