Stage Star has won the first race of day three as trainer Paul Nicholls claimed his first win since 2019.
Jockey Harry Cobden was over the moon after he ended a 4-year winless period: “I rode my first winner at 18, the next one came fairly soon, then a four year drought so it’s great to get back.
“The owners are spending more and more money every year and we’re getting a great team together”

Although Stage Star had 15/2 odds, they managed to cause an upset and trainer Paul Nicholls was relieved to win after a disappointing day yesterday: “It’s been a tough week so far, we were getting unlucky yesterday with a couple of them. But that was brilliant.
“It’s good for everyone at home, brilliant for Harry”
The next race is the 14:10 Pertemps Handicap Hurdle.
