Grieve joined the club following a stint with St. Johnstone as Head of Recruitment, having left the Scottish Premiership side in April 2022.

His departure from the club was as a result of travel commitments, with Grieve having to commute over nine hours south from his home in Scotland twice a week.
Speaking to Gloucestershire Live, he stated: “I wish the club well and want to thank the fans and staff for making me feel welcome.”
He was appointed into the restructured role left by former director of football Rich Hughes, who departed Rovers in September to join fellow League One club, Portsmouth as Sporting Director.
During his time at the club the 36-year-old oversaw the recruitment for two different managers, previously having worked with Ian Burchnall before the appointment of Duncan Ferguson as head coach.
Rovers’ head of recruitment oversaw their transfer dealings in the January window, where the club signed 11 players over the course of the month.
A 38-word statement from the club reads as follows: “We can confirm that Head of Performance & Recruitment, Stevie Grieve, has left Forest Green Rovers with immediate effect.
“We’d like to thank Stevie for his efforts at FGR and we wish him all the best for the future.”
