The five time Cheltenham festival winner is one of 16 runners in today’s 4:10pm Cross Country Chase, the legendary Tiger Roll will make his last appearance at Cheltenham this afternoon.
The Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse is under the influence of fellow Irish trainer Gordon Elliot and competes in National hunt Racing. He won the Grand National in both 2018 and 2019, and also has five Cheltenham wins to his name; the Triumph Hurdle in 2014, the National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup in 2017 and the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
The Gelding bay coloured horse has become a fan’s favourite over the years for his unique running style and impressive fence leaps. Tiger’s record stands at 42: 13-7-3, and his earnings have accumulated to over £1,418,548 over his eight year career.
Commonly nicknamed “the people’s horse” by punters, Tiger has rose to redemption following a horrific injury back in 2014, after which many had written him off.
I have spoken to many of the people involved in the #TigerRoll 🐅 blockbuster over the years and knitted some of their insights together for @ExaminerSport today as he retires with hopefully his 6th #CheltenhamFestival success https://t.co/ykQ5Ao8dkz

Elliot has always spoken highly of the horse’s influence in the sport saying, “Everybody wants to see Tiger Roll, he is what some people go to the races to see, he’s fabulous.
Can the famous horse cap off an amazing career by sweeping to victory in his final appearance of the historic event?
