At 33/1, Faivoir beat the odds to win the County Hurdles at 14:10, finishing narrowly in front of Pied Piper, with the chasing pack not far behind.
For the majority of the race, outsiders Prairie Dancer and Highway One O Two led the pack and looked as if there could have been an upset, before a poor finish, with Prairie Dancer dropping all the way to 21st.
Going into the last hurdle, Faivoir was sat in fourth place before a super sprint to the finish line stole the win off Pied Piper.
Ballyadam did impressively well to finish in fifth considering starting the race at the back, with Rachael Blackmore preparing for her Gold Cup attempt at 15:30.
“I never thought I would be in this position. I always count myself so lucky that I’ve ridden a festival winner,” said jockey Bridget Andrews.
“There are others far supierior than I am and haven’t won one, so it’s a dream come true for us as a team.
“For a number two jockey there aren’t many big days.”
Trainer Dan Skelton added: “My stomach’s killing me from all the shouting! We owned him for this one and he did a wonderful job.”
