FA Cup Preview: What can the Gloucestershire sides expect? Cheltenham Town, Forest Green Rovers, and Hereford F.C opponents revealed

It was the FA Cup first round draw on Sunday and three local teams featured in the pool.

Although unlucky for some, it was Cheltenham Town that was represented by ball 13, and managed to draw AFC Wimbledon away.

These two sides faced each other twice last season, with Cheltenham being undefeated in the fixtures, as they drew 2-2 at Plough Lane, and managed a 3-1 over the Dons at the Completely Suzuki Stadium.

The sides met at Plough Lane in the FA Cup just two years ago, as the Robins were the losers in a seven goal thriller, as they lost 4-3 in the second round.

Forest Green Rovers will still be flying high after a 5-0 thumping over Colchester United this weekend, which would only be complimented by their favourable FA Cup draw, although their opponent is still undecided.

It will either be Scarborough Athletic or Oxford City, Scarborough play in the the National League North, and drew 1-1 against other local side Gloucester City AFC earlier this season.

Gloucester City have already been eliminated from the FA Cup in the second qualifying round, at the hands of AFC Totton 3-0.

While Oxford City currently sit 20th in the Vanarama National League, who although had a poor run inform, are undeafted in the last two, with a win of Flyde before the draw with Scarborough this weekend.

Hereford F.C drew Gillingham at home, as they reached the first round of the FA Cup for the second year in a row.

Ethan Freemantle who scored the winner in their 1-0 upset over Rochdale, was at Gloucester City to start the season, and is still the most recent home goal scorer for the Tigers.

Gillingham and Hereford’s head to head record is currently perfectly balanced, they’ve played 30 matches against each other, and the Bulls have won 10, drawn 10, lost 10 against their Kentish opponents.
