Delta Work has claimed a victory in the Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival after losing out to Tiger Roll in last year’s race.
A favourite at 11/10, Delta Work made a late push for victory, fighting off Galvin in an intense final straight to claim the victory.
Snowleopardess lead for the majority of the race, but ultimately couldn’t keep up the pace to bring home a victory.
“This lads tough and he battled well but his ears were pricked and he had brilliant speed and he was brilliant to jump,” said jockey Keith Donoghue following the race.
Trainer Gordon Elliott claimed his second win of the day in the race, a perfect result for the Irishman.
Jockey Rachel Blackmore fell off Gin On Lime early in the race, but is fine after the incident.
