On Saturday, Colchester United hosted Cheltenham Town in a bottom-of-the-table clash in League Two. Both teams have had a rough start to their league campaigns. Going into the game, Cheltenham had only picked up ten points from their last eleven games, while Colchester sat just one point ahead.

After Cheltenham were relegated last season, I think most of their fans hoped the club would take advantage of its fresh start to try and rebuild and go straight back up. But, so far, this does not seem to have been the case.
Colchester came into the game in good spirits, having won two of their last three, while Cheltenham were crying out for a win after not winning any of their last three.
Even with the form Colchester had been in, it was Cheltenham who ended up taking the lead thanks to an early goal from Jordan Thomas. However, those celebrations were short-lived as Lyle Taylor equalised for the home team in the 27th minute.
Just as the game looked like it was about to enter the break in a stalemate, Jordan Thomas stepped up once again for the away side, and what a time to get it.

Cheltenham went into the second half with only one thing on their mind: Defence. They sat back and knew how key these three points would be to hopefully get their season back on track. They faced sixteen shots and countless Colchester attacks, but The Robins stood strong and collected their well-deserved three points.
Cheltenham host Bradford City tomorrow and hope to finally put a run of results together, whereas Colchester travel to Chesterfield and will look to bounce back from a disappointing defeat.
