Louis Stabbins is a 19-year-old striker that plays for Weston-Super-Mare AFC academy as well as his local side, Hutton FC, on a Saturday.
Stabbins started up front against Portishead Town FC on Saturday and scored twice as Hutton FC eased to a 4-1 victory.
The striker bagged his first goal in the 23rd minute as a ball was driven low into the area by right winger Wiktor Walczak and Stabbins was there to convert on the edge of the six yard box.
His second came in the 68th minute as he was played through by central midfielder Joel Frost and Stabbins found himself one on one with the goalkeeper. Stabbins composed himself and made it look as if he was about to shoot but he knocked it round the keeper and tapped the ball into an empty net.
Stabbins reflected on his performance after the game.
“I’m very happy with my performance today, it always feels nice to get amongst the goals so grabbing two today was nice – it’s just a shame I couldn’t complete the hat trick!”
The forward grabbed his second goal of the afternoon after rounding the keeper, which was very satisfying for Stabbins.
“I think my favourite of the two I got today has to be my second, the keeper had been making comments to me all game trying to get in my head so to go round him like that felt good I won’t lie!”
The young striker has been in top form this season, something that he looks to build off.
“Yeah I would say I’m very confident in my game at the moment.”
“It helps that I’ve started this season quite well and I’ve been managing to find the back of the net consistently so hopefully I can carry this on for the remainder of the season and we’ll see what happens from there.”
Stabbins plays for both Hutton and Weston-Super-Mare AFC academy and admits sometimes it can be tough to balance the two at times.

“It is hard to balance playing for both my local team and the Weston academy as I train four days a week and have a match another two days so it just leaves the one day a week where I don’t have anything football related on.”
“It’s quite nice to have a break sometimes, even though footy is my passion it’s a very demanding sport and those rest days really do come as a treat sometimes.”
Stabbins has also set himself some targets for the remainder of the season.
“My personal aim for this season is to carry on scoring goals and helping the team in any way I can.”
“At Hutton, as a team our goal is to push for the title, we got close last year but we just weren’t good enough but this year we’ve bought a few new faces in and we’ve started well so who knows what could happen!
