Monday night football is back tonight as Leicester City host Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.
The game will kick off at 8 o’clock and although the sides stand 16 places apart in the table, with Leicester being backed as the favourites by the bookies, the game could prove to be a lot tougher for Brendan Rodgers’ side than people think.
Aston Villa’s hungry for a revival:
The loss to Manchester City in the Carabao cup final last Sunday means that Aston Villa will head into the game on the back of four straight defeats.
But, a win for Villa can lift them out of the relegation zone and into 16th place, whilst still having a game in hand against their fellow relegation strugglers.
Although losing a cup final can give a damaging blow to players confidence, Dean Smith’s team have a chance tonight to bounce back and make a statement to the rest of the league that Villa deserve to be a premier league club.
Leicester City need to be ruthless:
Leicester currently sit in third place in the league and a win tonight would make them only four points behind Manchester City.
But these are the sort of tests that the Foxes need to be ruthless in and start being consistent with results to cement their champions league spot and push City for a race for second place.
Player to watch: Jack Grealish
When the 24 year-old has featured for Villa in away games this season, they have avoided defeat in seven, with Grealish scoring in six of them.
The midfielder will be hoping to continue this good run of form which could support his chance to make Gareth Southgates England squad this summer.
Goals Galore:
The game should be filled with goals tonight as 18 of Aston Villa’s 27 Premier League games this season have ended with both teams scoring. The away side also have the joint lowest number of clean sheets.
Both teams love to attack and there may even be celebrations at the ground like there was the last time these two played at the King Power…
