The Bundesliga started again on Saturday and brought some sort of normality back to football supporters’ lives.
The footballing weekend will conclude on Monday night as struggling Werder Bremen take on Bayer Leverkusen at the Weser Stadium.
Form
Both teams have not played a competitive match in over two months, with their last game taking place on March 7.
Werder picked up a strong point in Berlin against Hertha, but would’ve been disappointed to throw away an early two-goal cushion.
Whereas Leverkusen thumped Frankfurt 4-0 in a game they controlled from start to finish.
Bremen have not won in nine Bundesliga games – with their last victory coming away at Dusseldorf in January.
Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last five league matches and have won four of them, as they look to close the gap on RB Leipzig to just a single point.
Players to Watch
For Bremen, Milot Rashica has enjoyed a great campaign and is the side’s top scorer in the Bundesliga.
The Kosovo winger has scored seven times and assisted four goals for his team-mates during the campaign.
The form of the 23-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from several Premier League clubs – including Liverpool.
Kai Havertz has played a fantastic season for Leverkusen so far and has quickly established himself as one of the most sought-after talents in Europe.
Like Rashica, the 20-year-old’s dazzling form has resulted in reported interest from other clubs.
Havertz tends to play in the centre, just behind the striker, as a “number 10”; where he has scored six times and assisted five this season so far.
Havertz, along with Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt, are two of the most exciting footballers to watch in the German top-flight.
We saw Brandt’s exploits on Saturday, in Dortmund’s easy victory over rivals Schalke.
With two assists at the weekend, Julian Brandt impressed @BobbyVincent_ the most.
