Teahupoo took the win at the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle

Teahupoo ridden by Jack Kennedy took the win at the highlight race of day three at Cheltenham Festival.

Kennedy’s horse was the clear favourite on the day at odds of 5/4, with second placed Flooring Porter coming in at 9/1 and third placed Home By The Lee at 16/1.

Jockey Kennedy, speaking to ITV Sport said:

“He’s an amazing horse, he makes my job very easy.

“You can put him where you want in a race and he jumps great. He’s a pleasure to ride.”

On his relief at riding a winner:Β 

“The horses have been running well but getting on my mind a bit last night. It is brilliant to get off the mark.

Talking about his frustration at not winning for a while:

“I wasn’t too bad, because the horses have been running well, but it started to get a little bit annoying yesterday evening. It’s brilliant to get off the mark now.”

Owner Robcour and trainer Gordon Elliott will take home a purse of Β£182,000.
