Cheltenham Town Ladies announce signing of Larkhall Athletic striker Rhian Robbins

Cheltenham Town Ladies have strengthened their squad ahead of the title run-in, with Rhian Robbins re-joining the club from Larkhall Athletic.

The Robins went back to the top of the league at the weekend, and with just four games left, they have added to their options with the addition of Robbins.

Manager Tom Davies knows his side will earn promotion with 10 points from those four games, and isn’t taking any chances after signing a prolific striker.

He already has Lacy-Jai Liggett and Jade Grove at his disposal, who have 21 goals between them this season, the latter having just returned from injury in the most recent game.

Robbins scored against Cheltenham earlier in the season, the only player to net for Larkhall in the two sides’ three meetings this season.

That was in a 3-1 FA Cup defeat for the Larks; Cheltenham won the two league games 3-0 and 4-0.

As mentioned, Robbins has played for Cheltenham previously, initially joining the club from St Nicholas in the summer of 2018.

After a couple of seasons at Larkhall, Robbins is back in Gloucestershire and is looking to fire Cheltenham to promotion.

Robbins has 11 goals in 16 games this season and is the top scorer for a Larkhall side who have only scored 19 league goals.

“I am very excited to be back at Cheltenham,” Robbins said.

“The club has some great ambitions and playing for them will give me the opportunity to challenge myself and develop further as a player.”

Cheltenham travel to Portishead Town on Sunday and also have three very difficult games to come against Southampton Women’s, Exeter City and Chesham United.
