Defender Gus Scott Morris felt like his team deserved at least a point out of their National League game against Forest Green at The New Lawn.
The Shrimpers went 1-0 up through Slavi Spasov but quickfire goals from Harry Whitwell and Kyle McAllister gave Rovers all three points.
And he was disheartened that the Essex side came away from Gloucestershire empty handed.
“Beginning of the second half I thought we were really good and that probably showed with the goal.
“It was really disappointing to then not get something from the game from there, we had about twenty minutes left, and we really want to see the game out from there.”

“It was great and a good move and I was happy to get the assist by putting it in the air and that’s where we want our strikers to be.
“It was one of those in the six yard box and he’s there to tap it in,” added the 28-year-old.
“If we want to do anything this year, we need to make sure we are come here and pull three points out of the bag or we get through those sticky times and get something from the game.”
Southend have struggled against fellow play off opposition this season, picking up just two points so far across four games.
“Learn from this game as when we have played the teams in the playoffs we haven’t been good enough.
“We let ourselves down and didn’t see the game out and that’s key at the end of the day.”
