Jockey Rachael Blackmore looks ahead to her week at the Cheltenham Festival and her hopes of recreating the emotions felt when winning at the home of jump racing.
“It’s like no other place but being able to walk back into the winner’s enclosure here. It’s hard to describe. It’s a phenomenal feeling. So yeah, I’d love to be able to feel here again this week.”
Blackmore rides Captain Guinness (28/1) in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at 4 pm today but is optimistic about their chances against favourite Jonbon.

“It’s a very competitive race. Jonbon is looking like the one we all have to beat. So, I’m looking forward to Captain Guinness and hopefully, he’ll win another solid race.”
Blackmore also gave her thoughts on Monty’s Star (14/1) in the Gold Cup as it goes up against the formidable Galopin Des Champs.
“Yeah, I can’t wait to ride Monty Starr. He’s a horse that’s improving all season. He’s going to appreciate the drier ground, and the extra couple of furlongs, and I think he’s going to run a massive race.
Obviously, Galopin Des Champs is on the brink of history, but we’ll be doing our best to upset that.”
