Netball is the latest sport to return amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Rise As One. That’s the message being sent out to all clubs and fans in the VNSL this week as the 2021 season prepares to get underway.
Like all sport across the UK, netball has been affected by the coronavirus situation that we find ourselves in. However, having successfully carried out pre-season matches the league season is ready to get underway.
Severn Stars had just the one pre season match- a successful 59-53 victory against Team Bath- and will now face Wasps in their season opener.
Wasps had the luxury of two pre-season games and were victorious in both, the first a 64-33 win against Celtic Dragons followed by a 59-41 victory against Surrey Storm.
It will be a tough test for Severn Stars but the start of a new season can be a chance for any team and they will be looking to improve on their performances from last season having only managed one win out of four.
All of this weekend’s VNSL matches will be available to watch either online or on Sky Sports.
