Oxford United Women’s manager Sam Rose reflects on his side’s 2-0 away defeat to table toppers Hashtag United.
Rose was disappointed with his sides unfortunate and dispiriting times to concede, that being late on in both halves.
“It’s not the result we wanted at all, and I’m really disappointed with how it finished, especially with the second goal late on.”

Despite the defeat, Rose was quick to praise his players’ efforts and resilience throughout the match.
“We didn’t manage to create much. We didn’t manage to put them on the back foot for long enough to swing momentum into the game. However, I’ve got no bad things to say about any of the players in the dressing room. I think they really tried to attack the game head-on.”
Rose fully backs his side to bounce back in next Sundays game.
“I’ve got no doubt there will be a reaction next week, no doubt whatsoever. We’ve got an important game against Ipswich, and the following week, against Watford.”

The Yellows face some tough upcoming games, second in the table Ipswich Town in the FA Women’s National League and Watford in the FA Cup.
Rose stressed: “These are the games you want to play in, it’s as simple as that. Playing against some of the top teams in the division, testing ourselves with back-to-back games.”
Rose insists that his side want to fight for promotion this season.
“I’ve said time and time again, I bang on about it, we want to get into the second tier. We’ve got to find a way to win, winning the way we want to win and play the way we want to play.”
“We will dust ourselves down, stick together, and go take next weekend on, doing everything we can to get a result.”
