The University of Gloucestershire Darts team kick start their new season in a new league. The team join the Central League after winning the South West League last year only losing one game they now play the likes of University of Birmingham, University of Leicester, Oxford Brooks, University of Warwick and UCFB Wembley.
The team travel to Birmingham this Wednesday and Pryer expressing his thoughts, on how he thinks the first fixture will go.

“I think it will be a tough game but it’ll be a good test for us to see the standard of the new league, they made it to national’s and came third in their league but we didn’t come across them to face them, but I think it will be a good test to see where we are in this new league” Pryer said.
After last year’s success the reconstruction of the UDUK League’s show some problems within the Gloucestershire team mainly due on the location of other teams being further away from last year and the competition being much bigger.
“We were moved to the central one, but I think there’s more positives then negatives because we can test ourselves against better teams.
“No disrespect to the teams we played last year, but we lost one game and won the league, personally I don’t think it was too difficult so hopefully we will have a much more competitive league this year.
“Last year was brilliant for the club, but this year has taken to new heights. We’ve had so many first year students join, it’s almost too many as we don’t have enough boards but we’re doing our best to make it work.”
The club was due a new rebrand with a new committee and for the first time in three year the society are now doing social nights which bring the club closer.
“We’ve started doing socials this year which has been a great success and it’s shown more of a community with everyone coming out for a drink and meet up, mainly for the freshers to feel welcomed and get to know each other.” Pryer said
Pryer continues to talk about his expectations for this year and wants to win it all.
“We want to win it. We want to go on to nationals and perform there and hopefully win that. We’re also in the Challenge Cup where we face Lincoln in the first round which will be tough one but hopefully we can go there and win and continue our success”
Wednesday’s game will be held at The Guild, Edgbaston Park Rd, Birmingham B15 2TU where toe to oche is at 13:00.
