In a battle to stay up, Gloucester City look to play fellow relegation fighters Kings Lynn as both sides look to avoid the drop.

Adam Lakeland’s side welcomed Gloucester City in August where both sides shared a point with Kings Lynn midfielder Ben Stephen scoring a heartbreaking 99th minute equaliser stopping Elliot Durrell helping his side earn three points on the day.

Gloucester City will look to get their third win on the bounce as last time out Mike cook’s side won in a five goal thriller against Bishop’s Stortford 4-1 last Saturday with Rowe, Robinson, Wright and Beresford all getting on the scoresheet for Gloucester.

Post match Manager Mike Cook said: “We hopefully will be giving a game to everyone in and around us”

“I just think game to game it’s going to go up and against us sometimes it’s going to go for us it’s going to be a rollercoaster all the way to the end of this season whether its in game or a run of games we got to get not too low if we have a bad result.”

After the win Gloucester currently sit 22nd in the league and look to go again and aim to win against Kings Lynn who sit just above them in the relegation zone in 21st. A win will take them above Kings Lynn and a step closer to getting out of the dog fight that is happening at the bottom of the National Leaue North.

Both teams will be desperate to get a win and as it gets towards the business end of the season every point matters and managers of both of the teams no doubt will know this.

Unfortunately for King’s Lynn their results haven’t been quite up to scratch drawing three from their last five and losing the other two

Last time out they played a tough 0-0 draw against Chester who sit on the opposite end of the table in fourth currently fighting for their chances of getting promotion this season.

It’s been an incredibly disappointing season for King’s Lynn so far as just last season they had finished 2nd in the League losing in the play offs to Kidderminster Harriers in a harsh 4-1 defeat. This year has been the complete opposite end of the table scraping for points to avoid relegation and Im sure they hope to turn their fortunes around away to Gloucester City.

It will be a difficult match for both sides but with the form of Gloucester City at the moment it will be hard to not see them as favourites going into the match and with the side scoring on all fronts King’s Lynn will be in for a difficult match up.

The game is to be played today at 3:00 at Gloucester City’s home ground the Tiger Turf stadium.
