“I’m ready to take on the big boys, I know I’m going to go to the top – Shabir Haidary insists he’s ready for his opponent

Gloucestershire boxer, Shabir Haidary says he is “ready to step up” to whoever is put in front of him in November.

At Fight Factory gym, Shabir Haidary is preparing for his next fight on November 25th as he awaits the reveal of his next opponent.

The 25 year-old is a refugee from Afghanistan and he has lived in Gloucestershire for 12 years.

The southpaw boxer does not yet know the identity of who he is facing, but Haidary has stated that he is ready to face whoever he needs to.

“English style eliminator or even a title. I’m ready to step up to whoever they put in front of me. I’m expecting them to bring everything they’ve got, I’m expecting a really hard and tough fight because that’s what I’m preparing for. If the fight ends up being easy, then that means we’ve done all the work we needed to do in our training camp.”

Haidary goes to Gloucester Boxing gym, Fight Factory to take part in a training camp in preparation for the fight. The boxer has revealed what the experience has been like at Jon Pitman’s gym.

“It’s been amazing, we’ve been working for a couple of years now and we have been stepping up every time. I’ve just come off a good win against a good opponent, now we are straight away back into the next camp, so I’m literally building from camp to camp. We’ve been getting better and better.”

The Gloucestershire based boxer has had a good start to his career. Beating the likes of Jake Pollard, Elicer Quezada and others to build up an impressive 6-0 record. But Haidary insists that doesn’t come into his mind in the build up to a fight.

“I’m ready to take on the big boys, but I don’t really look at my record because I know I’m going to go to the top and I’m one of the top prospects. The number 6-0, at the moment it’s just a number just to get those experiences up. Now I already feel like I’m on top of my game. This city has given me everything, this city has given me a new life. So, I’m ready to put this city on the map.”

Haidary will face his mystery opponent on November 25th at MECA Swindon with tickets on sale now.
