Ian Holloway says that his side have “got to dust themselves off and go again.” ahead of Notts clash

Ian Holloway’s Swindon Town side returns to the Nigel Eady County Ground as they host Notts County following defeat at the hands of Accrington Stanley.

The Reds travelled to Lancashire with the opportunity to go top; however, they would ultimately suffer a 4-0 defeat with Paddy Madden getting a hat-trick to give Stanley the points.

Looking ahead, the Reds are set to play host to County in a fixture that was originally set to take place on the 11th of November; however, they will now play the game in hand on Tuesday night, allowing both sides to climb the table.

Town have the chance to go top with three points in the midweek clash, whereas Notts County can climb to fourth should they win at the County Ground.

The visitors come into this game having won their last three fixtures, with the first of the three being a 2-1 victory over a League One side in the Vertu Trophy, with County going on to beat Oldham and Barnet.

Coming into this fixture, Aaron Drinan is the man in form for Swindon, having scored eight goals so far in League Two, for the visitors, Tyrese Hall is the man to watch, having five goal contributions so far this season after joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Another notable name to note for the visitors is defender Lewis Macari, whose grandfather Lou played for Swindon from 1984-86, managing them to a Fourth Division title in 1986 and triumph in the 1987 Third Division Play-offs over Gillingham.

Last season, the Magpies would get the better of Swindon home and away, winning 2-0 at Meadow Lane and 2-1 at the County Ground with Gavin Kilkenny getting on the scoresheet.

The Reds could be without two players on Tuesday night following a “bad day at the office” in Accrington.

When speaking to Swindon Town’s media team, Ian Holloway confirmed that Ryan Tafazolli’s half-time substitution was due to a “sore groin, whereas Danny [Butterworth], I think it looks like he’s torn his hamstring, he can’t even straighten his legs, so I hope it isn’t a torn hamstring, but it looks like it.”

Following Saturday’s defeat Ian Holloway would set his sights on Tuesday’s fixture for his side to pick themselves up.

“Football has its way of doing things, it brings you right back down to earth, but we’ve got to dust ourselves down and go again on Tuesday, and I’m glad we’ve got a game on Tuesday.”
