For Skivington’s side it was a disappointing result, and it sees them fall to ninth in the Premiership table.

Following the game, the Cherry and Whites coach conceded that it would be challenging for Gloucester to climb into the top four, he said: “That’s a big loss for us today. It makes life very difficult but we’ve got lots to improve on in our performance and I don’t feel we can feel hard done by today.”

He continued: “I don’t think anything has gone. But it does make things very, very difficult now and I don’t feel if I’m honest we should be talking too much about the play-offs. We just need to talk about getting better and taking those opportunities when we create them.”
