The government has announced they are to support horse racing under a proposal to help sports venues in England.
As part of a £300m ‘winter survival package’ pledged to sport by the chancellor last week, horse racing is set to receive £40m in loans to help racecourses bridge the gap while the ongoing ban on attendees continues.
The deal would see loans being repaid over five years, at a low interest rate, with no repayments for the first year.
BHA Chief Executive, Nick Rust, is due to meet with with officials today to discuss the deal.
