Cheltenham Town manager Michael Flynn expects a tough battle on Tuesday night against bottom-placed Accrington Stanley in League Two.
The Welshman is now under pressure, given his team’s 2-0 defeat at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium against Fleetwood Town last Saturday, that now leaves them in 20th place.
“I Don’t think it’s going to be easy game either. Accrington, they work their socks off. They’ve got some good players,” Flynn began ahead of the two sides’ next game.
“All their stats and data are saying they should be higher than what they are, so it’s going to be a difficult game, and I’m not thinking, ‘oh great, we’ve got Accrington on Tuesday’, it’s going to be a tough game.”
Flynn said: “If we’re not at it, the same will happen as what happened on Saturday [against Fleetwood]. We need to be out there, we need to compete, and like I said, we need to fight for each other.”

The former Newport County manager hopes his players can battle back after their disappointing result. “I expect to win any home game, but unfortunately doesn’t work like that.
“Otherwise everybody would win at home and lose away. So, yes, it’s gonna be a tough game and let’s see what happens come 10 o’clock.”
The manager also gave an injury update, as multiple players struggled getting healthy recently at the club.
He said: “There’s one or two we’re looking at this morning. We’ll make some decisions on who is selected tomorrow. I think Lewis Payne, he played, he didn’t look quite right Saturday as well.
“We’re having to play players that are not 100% as well. So, yes, it’s a little bit frustrating at the minute, but I’m not going to sit here and feel sorry for myself.”
