Bob Olinger takes the Stayers’ Hurdle to go three from three at the Cheltenham Festival for Rachael Blackmore and Henry De Bromhead’s second win of the day.
The favourite Teahupoo looked like it would take back-to-back victories in this race as it lead the last, but it was Bob Olinger who had the speed up the Prestbury Park hill to take a simply stunning win.
The hoops of JP McManus finished in the places at 7/1, but it was Blackmore who sealed her second win of the day on St Patrick’s Thursday.
Results:
1st: Bob Olinger (6/1)
2nd: Teahupoo (7/4)
3rd: The Wallpark (7/1)
Jockey Reaction- Rachael Blackmore:
“He was brilliant, he’s got so much speed and he was able to use that today”
“We all go out there, everyone has the same plan. It either works well like that or it doesn’t, when everyone puts into it, it makes it easy”
“He’s unbeaten around here, he’s a local star, he’s a very very good horse”
Trainer Reaction- Henry de Bromhead:
“”Rachael was brilliant, we were lucky obviously while Home By The Lee was very unlucky, we got the right side of that”
“She gave him a super ride, I’m just delighted for the horse, an incredible horse with such a reputation a few years ago.
“Things didn’t work out aswell as I thought so to see him come back and do that is amazing and I’m delighted for everyone”
“Rachael gave him such a ride, she’s an incredible lady and I’m delighted for her aswell”
