Breaking: Olympic Torch Relay held behind closed doors amid Covid-19 outbreak

The pandemic is wreaking havoc within the sporting world but the IOC insist the games in August will go ahead.

Thursday’s ceremony in Greece was the first since 1984 to be held without spectators because of the ongoing concern over coronavirus.

IOC president Thomas Bach said organizers had “outstanding support and co-operation on all levels of government”.

If the games are to be suspended they will join an ever growing list of cancellations with the Premier League announcing all games are to be postponed until April 3rd.

The Games are due to start on 24 July in Tokyo.
