Premiership Rugby Cup final between Harlequins and Sale Sharks remains on

This weekend’s Premiership Rugby Cup final involving Harlequins and Sale Sharks will go ahead despite the ongoing coronavirus issues.

The decision came after Premiership Rugby held a consultation with both clubs.

The game will kick off at 3pm on Sunday at the AJ Bell Stadium.

This comes after football in England’s top four leagues was postponed until April 3 earlier today.

“We will keep updating our plans with new information as it is released, Premiership Rugby said in a statement.

Elsewhere in Rugby, two Six Nations came have also have also been postponed with just Wales vs Scotland remaining.

Sale reached the final thanks to a 28-7 victory over Saracens last month, while Harelequins secured an impressive away victory over Premiership leaders Exeter.

Northampton Saints won the inaugural Premiership Cup last season, beating Saracens 23-9 at Franklin’s Gardens.

Gloucester were eliminated in the group stage after losing all four of their matches.
