Antoine Griezmann has announced his retirement from playing for the French national team.
In a quote from Griezmann, he says: “I close this wonderful chapter of my life thanks for all the memories.”
The Atletico Madrid player won plenty of trophies during his time playing for Les Bleus including the golden boot in Euro 2016, the 2018 Fifa World Cup and the 2021 Nations League, scoring 44 goals in 137 appearances.
There is an upcoming October international break and we now know for sure that the experienced head will not be involved in France’s Nations League games against Israel and Belgium.
