It’s not going to be Ohio State, it’s not going to be Miami; Oregon is taking it all this season.
Up until now, it seems like the Buckeyes are on top of the world, and they are; however, they’ve only won one ranked game this season, and it was against an uncertain Texas team in week one.
Down south, Miami are on a good run as well, beating three Florida teams three weeks straight, plus three ranked wins as well. It would seem like Carson Beck has found his mojo back after he departed from Georgia last season.
But what about the not-so-underdogs? Oregon has powered through the season so far, with no losses and a point-difference win of 172 points across the first six weeks, the most out of the current top-three teams. They have one ranked win, against a pretty solid (back then at least) Penn State at Beaver Stadium during a whiteout.
The Ducks have been brewing this momentum since last season; they got to the Rose Bowl, where they ultimately lost to Ohio State by 20 points, but proved they had something there.

No one will deny that Ohio State is having an amazing season, a worthy one for the reigning champions. Miami is also on an unbelievable run, but there is something about Oregon that just tells me this is their year.
Oregon has an incredible roster and has established itself in the top three of their conference for offensive, defensive and rushing leaders.
Not to mention, the Ducks are also winning the best mascot competition, but that’s another topic for another day.
They have a tough game next Saturday, as they will face unbeaten Indiana and Heisman favorite, Fernando Mendoza, who only has a 2-yard passing difference with Moore.
This one will probably be Oregon’s second most tricky game of the season, but just as with the Nittany Lions, it will be a close one, and a win for the Ducks.
Past teams have been so close yet so far from lifting the trophy. Gabriel against the Buckeyes last season, Bo Nix led them to the Big-10 championship in 2023, and Justin Herbert helped them win the Rose Bowl in 2019, falling just short of the playoffs.
It has been up and down the last couple of years for Oregon fans, having insane starts of the season and falling short at the end. This time, though, they seem different, more eager for the championship than ever.
