“We are looking to back it up again” Harry Emmett post Gloucester City FA trophy win

Harry Emmett is hoping Gloucester can build on their form after their 3-0 win over Braintree Town

Gloucester City came out 3-0 victors over Braintree Town on Saturday, which is just their second win under Manager Mike Cook.

Midfielder Harry Emmett feels Gloucester have been hard done by this season, “Last couple games we’ve played really well and felt unlucky but we stuck to it and it’s worked out.”

“As we’ve just seen, a 3-0 win shows it all. It’s been coming for a long time to be honest, we got goals, the clean sheet, so great all round performance. I’m looking forward to hopefully taking it into our next game”

Gloucester City were meant to play Peterborough Sports on Tuesday evening, but due to their FA Trophy replay the game has been postponed.

Emmett vented his frustrations at this, “We were meant to be playing again on Tuesday and it’s a shame we couldn’t take it straight into that and build on our form further,”

“Having to wait the extra week is frustrating but we will stick to it, look to do the same and back it up again.”

Gloucester City manager Mike Cook will be happy to top off a very busy week of the field with a win on it. Chairmans Patrick Chambers and Nicky Chambers departed the club midweek, along with a host of other back room staff.

Mike spoke prior to to the Braintree game saying, “We heard about Patrick and Nicky at around 10am (Thursday morning) so it gave us time to take it in,”

“I then spoke with Alex Pethram, and we had a long conversation in which we decided that the best thing to do for the club was to work together as best we can.”

“It’s a club that I love and have a lot of respect for, so we want nothing but the best and we are going to try our hardest to do that.”

Gloucester City play Spennymoor next Saturday as Mike Cook’s side look to continue their fine form.
