“I am going to try and be consistent with you, as the media, being open and honest, not just because we’ve won. The second half was some performance. We dug in, battled, we played the game right away from home. So yes, that is a big, big win.”

The Robins took the lead in the 24th minute when Ashley Hay met a corner from Ethon Archer with a brilliant header that nestled into the far corner.
However, the hosts equalised just 13 minutes later through a headed effort of their own.
James Tilley nodded beyond former Wombles goalkeeper Joe Day.
Before the break, Cheltenham were struck with more bad luck as another player was added to the injury list in the form of January signing: Darragh Power, who was replaced by Brentford loanee Val Adedokun.
“He’s done his hamstring. He’ll have a scan either tomorrow or Thursday. I am sure you’ll be the first to know,” Flynn said.

It was striker Matty Taylor who stole the limelight last night with his strike late on in the 79th minute, Hay brought the ball down and fed Taylor, who powered a low-shot across Wimbledon keeper Owen Goodman and into the bottom corner.

The Robins now sit in 13th place and are seven points off of the playoffs with 10 games to go in the 2024/25 season.
At full-time, Flynn reflected: “Let’s take every game as it comes. I am pleased for our supporters. That’s twice they’ve had to do the trip and I haven’t forgotten that. That’s something to go home with, with a smile. We needed that as a group. Two away wins in the last four, a lot better to almost match what we did for the previous part of the season. I am happy for the supporters, players and staff. It was a good win.”
