On-loan Birmingham City Women forward back amongst the goals for West Brom in Stourbridge win

West Brom Women striker Delphi Cole says her side’s 4-0 win over Stourbridge has provided a platform “to push on” in the FAWNL Northern Premier Division.

The on-loan Birmingham City forward scored the opener in a comprehensive triumph at the Paycare Ground in Darlaston.

Complimented by goals from Olivia Rabjohn, Fran Orthodoxou and Simran Jhamat, the Baggies glided to a third successive unbeaten game with a performance to be proud of.

Cole said: “It was really good, we’ve been pushing on for this win. We owed the opposition one today and I think we did that.

“We played really well, especially considering it being the second game in a week. We’ve been saying we needed to push on for a while.

“Beating Stourbridge is another step towards that. We dominated the ball and scored four brilliant goals.

“Me and Liv [Rabjohn] get on very well on the pitch. When she touched it over the defence, I just thought I should hit it.

“Thankfully I managed to place it in the right place. I was delighted when it went in.

“I’m always working on it in training. I want to try and do extra to get that finishing practice on the go.

“It’s paid off today, and I’m glad for that. I’ve always had that work ethic.

“When the defenders want to make it scrappy, I love it. When it’s a pitch like this today, we needed to go out there and battle for our win.”

Albion Women have another huge league test on Sunday, they face Halifax at the Valley Stadium in Redditch on Sunday, March 17.

“We’re doing well, our results recently have been excellent. We can’t stop now and have to look at Halifax to push on.

“Sunday will be a hard one, again they’re a tough team. We’ll have a result in us if we perform as we’ve done over the last couple of games.

“We’ve got enough battle to do it I reckon. At The Hawthorns on Sunday we had a boost and we wanted to push on today.

“We got those supporters there today, we always appreciate the support we’re given.”
