England Women boss Sarina Wiegman has praised Ellen White as she passed 100 caps for the Lionesses, and nears the all-time scoring record.
White, who has 45 goals in 100 appearances, is one goal away from matching Kelly Smith’s record following a 40th minute strike against Austria in England’s World Cup qualifiers.
Yeah of course that is amazing moment, as well as last Saturday when she achieved 100 caps,” Wiegman said in a press conference.
“She [White] shows so much consistency when she plays football, that is the only way you can do things like this.”
England, who lead Group D, next play host to Latvia tomorrow, who are bottom of the group.
