Langer Dan leaves it late to secure impressive Coral Cup victory

Langer Dan and Jockey Harry Skelton rode to an impressive victory in the Coral Cup Hurdle, in what was a dramatic three way finish across the line.

Camprond and Icare Allen came out looking strongest as they led the large pack of runners by a couple of lengths.

Camprond appeared to be favourite as they jumped the final hurdles, Jockey Aiden Coleman rode him well to distance himself by two to three lengths clear.

Langer Dan and An Epic Song then came out of nowhere in the final two hurdles which resulted in a very close finish, however, it was Langer Dan who came out strongest in the final moments and was able to secure the Coral Cup victory.

Trainer Dan Skelton spoke to ITV Racing shortly after the win:

“He’s just an amazing little horse.”

Two years ago… he didn’t deserve to be second and it turned out that his fate was pretty sealed before the race even started and he’s just such a credit to himself.”
