Jordy Reid hopes that Gloucester Rugby “bring it physically” in their Gallagher Premiership clash against Leicester Tigers

Gloucester Rugby host Leicester Tigers at Kingsholm in Round 13 of the Gallagher Premiership.

The Cherry and Whites are on a good run of form having won two games in a row against Worcester Warriors and Wasps. A third win against Leicester this afternoon could be enough for Gloucester to move up the table.

Jordy Reid is looking forward to the encounter and hopes that his side show up physically.

“I think it’s an important game as both teams have a bit of momentum at the moment after a couple of wins,” he said. “We’re looking to keep that going. It’ll be a big physical battle, so we know that up front we’re going to have to show up because they’ve got a big pack and their set piece is strong. We’ve been working on that in training because the set piece will be a big part of the game this week and we just need to bring it physically against these guys.”

Jordy Reid has been in fine form since joining Gloucester last summer and has been building a good partnership with Lewis Ludlow and Ruan Ackermann in the backrow.

“I was pretty fortunate to start a few games,” he said. “Unfortunately for some of the other guys, there were a few injuries with Jake Polledri and Ben Morgan at the start of the year, so I probably helped myself a bit as I was getting a few starts. It’s been nice building a bit of a combination with Ruan Ackermann and Lewis Ludlow.

“I think we’ve got a nice balance in the backrow and it’s been going pretty well so far. We all bring our own strengths and I think we’re starting to see that now in the backrow as we get a footprint in the game and help the team go forward a bit.”

Gloucester Rugby’s game against Leicester kicks off at 15:00 this afternoon.
