James Rowe’s Tigers drew 1-1 at Kettering Town today in a game where they will be disappointed not to take all three points.
This was Gloucester’s first game in a month after having many games called off thanks to storms, Ciara, Dennis and Jorge.
Tre Mitford gave the home side the lead after five minutes with a fantastic volley. It took Gloucester just four minutes to reply with a goal of their own, Bernard Mensah received a through ball from Matt McClure and slotted home coolly.
Gloucester remain 20th in the table but are still seven points above the relegation zone with four games in hand.
“I was disappointed with the first goal because we had been working on them hitting the channel, I know their manager quite well and hes done a fantastic job here,” said Rowe.
Earlier in the week Gloucester extended the loan of Forest Green player Taylor Allen until the end of the season.
“hes a talented lad, we have a good relationship with Forest Green and Mark inparticular, he just needs games and hopefully we can give him that over these next seven weeks,” said Rowe.
With all the latest breaking health stories throughout the country Rowe admitted that the Tigers have had their own health problems of late:
“The spirit of the group was shown again today, with the virus that is going through our team that no one really knows.
“Jack James, Josh Thomas and Joe Hanks to come through 90 minutes with what they’ve been going through just shows how much they care.”
Gloucester are in action again on Monday as they once again try to pick up points against Farsely Celtic at the Jubilee Stadium.
