Gloucester City AFC vs Telford United match preview: Tigers look to bounce back from Spennymoor stoppage

Unbeaten Gloucester City suffered their first dropped points of the season on Saturday. Matt McClure and Akwasi Asante had twice given the Tigers the lead but twice Spennymoor pegged back to deny Gloucester all three points away in Durham.

Gloucester still remain unbeaten and top of the National League North, ahead of AFC Fylde on goal difference.

Ahead of the match James Rowe’s newly constructed side had been the only team left in the National League with a 100% record and hadn’t conceded more than one goal in all five games this season.

The Tigers will be looking to cement their stay at the top Tuesday night as they play AFC Telford at home. A tough congested run-in sees them playing seven games before December 2.

Telford currently sit in eighth place after six games played having won, lost and drawn two games each. Aaron Williams is the Bucks top scorer having scored three goals in six so far this season.

James Rowe made two substitutions for the game away at Spennymoor but should have a full squad available to pick from. Tommy O’Sullivan and Jack James were brought in to the starting XI in place of Bernard Mensah and Gavin Gunning. Mensah is expected to regain his place in the starting XI whilst Josh Thomas and Gunning may be subject to an on the day analysis.

A man of the match performance from England-17 goalkeeper Louie Moulden will without doubt see him retain his place in the side ahead of Rhys Lovett.

Telford won both of the sides meetings last year, beating Gloucester 4-3 at home and 1-0 in Evesham.

Gloucester’s last victory over the Bucks was in 2017.

Predicted starting XI:

Louis Moulden, Liam Daly (C), Ben Morgan, George Carline, Jack James, Alex Whittle, Kevin Dawson, Fabien Robert, Bernard Mensah, Matt McClure, Akwasi Asante.

The match will take place at Meadow Park tomorrow evening at 7:45pm.
