The Glenfarclas Cross Country Steeple Chase is 3m6f handicap race, taking place at 15:20, consisting of 14 runners who will have to face 31 obstacles.
The Race will start on Cheltenham’s cross country course before joining back to the main track for the closing stages of the race.
The Contenders
The favourite this year is Favori De Champdou, the 11 year old will be ridden by Jack Kennedy and is trained by Gordon Elliott, who will be hoping to secure his first win of this years festival.
Favori De Champdou won by 8 lengths last time out at Cheltenham trials day and looked to have more in the bag, that win booked his ticket for today’s race.
Stumpton is last years winner and second favourite, he will be back to defend his crown this time out, only raced once so far this season where he won the Velka Pardubicka cross-country in Czech Republic.
What a ride that is 👏

Author’s Predictions
Stumptown would be my pick to win the race, if he can relive his form from last season then I believe he will outclass the rest of the field and at a price of 9/2 if he had a couple more runs this season the price would be much shorter.
It’s naturally a race that isn’t typically suited towards the punter, and therefore I won’t be putting much onto this race, but as a spectator, it’s one of the show pieces of the week, so I’ll enjoy it from afar.
