Joining Cinderford Town marks an exciting next step for McCauley Power, who is eager to challenge himself in a new environment. While the Welsh League has provided him with a solid foundation, he is now looking to make an even bigger impact on the Southern League stage.
During his time in the Welsh League, Power showcased his versatility, playing both as a traditional centre-forward and in a more creative, wide-forward role. His adaptability will no doubt be an asset to Cinderford Town.
“I’ve played over 70 games in the Welsh leagues and gained valuable experience of playing in the men’s league and coming from the Welsh Football System to the English system is a big step for myself and I am very happy with the move to Cinderford.

“From conversations with Matt and also training I could see Cinderford was the team for me. Moving to the English system for myself is a big move but at the end of the day it’s football and all I want to do is win and that’s exactly what we will do, “ Power said.
When asked what his qualities are and what he can offer to the club, the youngster stated:
“I am my own worst critic when it comes to football but if I had to pick some strengths for myself I would say my technical ability, Football IQ. My style of play is very creative, I’m the type of player to try things others may not try but most importantly I will do anything to win because I hate losing. “
The 22-year-old made his first debut with the club on Saturday afternoon against Shaftesbury and played a part in their 3-1 victory at home. He went on to talk about what it was like to witness winning in front of the home fans at The Causeway.

“ It felt good to have the shirt on and get a decent amount of minutes. As a new signing it is always a perfect start to win at home. There is no better feeling than winning at home in-front of the fans and to show teams that it’s never easy to come to The Causeway.
“As a new player it is always expected to be on the bench at the start but to be given the opportunity to play 45 minutes and also to play a part in the second and third goals was amazing and a perfect start for myself,” he said proudly.
The youngster will play a very valuable part in this season as the Foresters are determined to remain in the Southern League Division One South after a tough start to the season, and having experience will definitely be a great addition to Matthew Driscoll’s side.
Power smiled and confidently said, “I am looking forward to the rest of the season and cannot wait to get back to it again for Tuesday night against Evesham.”
