Norwich City have appointed former Aston Villa and Brentford boss Dean Smith as their new manager on a contract until July 2023.
The Premier League club sacked Daniel Farke just hours after their first win of the season against Brentford on Saturday, November 6, whilst Smith was relieved of his duties at Aston Villa just a day later.
There was a lot of reported interest surrounding former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard set to take the Canaries job, however it’s Smith who is now tasked with the job of achieving survival.
Smith will be joined by former Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare who will be his assistant manager, as he was at his time with the Villa.
Norwich sit bottom of the Premier League table with just one win and five points to their name, five points away from safety and Smith’s former club Aston Villa.
